The University of Limerick is set on133 hectares of beautiful parkland, with the River Shannon as the unifying focal point.
The region has its own airport (Shannon - 30 minute drive) as well as easy transport routes (motorways) from other parts of the country (Dublin, Cork, Galway etc.). Ryanair and Aer Lingus (as well as many other carriers) offer low priced flights into Ireland. Flights operate to Shannon from the UK, Europe (including European hub airports) and the USA (with US Customs Pre-Clearance). Dublin Airport also offers a wide variety of destinations, also covering Asia, and is around a 2hr drive from Limerick. Cork Airport is a 1hr 45 min drive away.
Public transport such as trains and buses operate regularly (mostly every hour) from Dublin to Limerick. Taxis and a regular bus service operate from Shannon Airport to Limerick. Local taxi prices from Shannon Airport to UL are around €45.00, and coaches from €6.00 return. From Dublin, prices start at €10 (single) on coaches and at, €15.00 (single, pre-booked) on trains. Car hire is available at all airports. If delegates are staying in on-campus accommodation, no transport will be required, as it is within walking distance of the venue.

Getting to Limerick from Shannon Airport
To get to the University of Limerick campus from Shannon Airportt, you can travel by car, taxi, or bus. This link takes you to the map with directions to the campus.
Taxi: The airport taxi desk, located in Shannon Airport Arrivals hall, will organise an airport taxi for you. It is open for all arriving flights. The taxi fare is approximately €45 (includes all passengers in the taxi).
Bus: The bus fare from Shannon Airport is €5 one-way with a private bus company (JJ Kavanagh), which drops passengers at the entrance tohe UL campus (25-minute walk to the Cappavilla Village Apartments) or the Stables (a 20-minute walk to the Cappavilla Village Apartments).See jjkavanagh.ie for further information.
The public bus service with Bus Eireann runs from Shannon Airport to Limerick City ( €8.40 one-way, €13.20 round-t ri p), with a second bus( €2.10 one way) from the city centre to the University.
Getting to Limerick from Dublin Airport
There are a number of commercial coaches going directly from Dublin Airport to UL.

Dublin Coach offer services from Dublin Airport to the University of Limerick and Limerick city. Coaches depart the airport every hour on the half hour with a stop at the Red Cow Luas Stop to change coach for the M7 Express Service to the University of Limerick.
